These terms are the agreement between you and CutDrop for use of this website and its background-removal service. By using the service, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.
The service
CutDrop removes the background from an image and returns a transparent PNG. You upload an image, our processing partner detects the subject, and the result is returned to your browser. The service runs entirely in your browser plus our API — there is nothing to install.
CutDrop is currently in beta. Features may change, and results are produced by machine-learning models, so edges may not always be perfect. You are responsible for checking that a cut-out is fit for your purpose before you use it.
CutDrop is offered primarily to users in the United States and is provided in English.
Your account
You sign in with Google. You're responsible for the activity on your account, and you must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age in your country) to use the service. One person, one account — don't share credentials or create accounts to farm free credits.
Credits and payment
- New accounts receive 3 free credits, once.
- Credits are sold in one-time packs. There is no subscription and nothing recurring to cancel.
- Credits never expire and are not reduced by time.
- One credit is charged per successful background removal. If processing fails on our side, the credit is returned automatically.
- Credits are personal, non-transferable and have no cash value. They can't be exchanged between accounts.
- Prices are shown in US dollars at checkout. Your bank or PayPal may apply currency conversion or fees of its own.
Refunds are handled under our Refund Policy.
Acceptable use
Don't use CutDrop to:
- process images you don't have the rights to use;
- create material that is unlawful, defamatory, or that sexualises minors;
- impersonate a person or misrepresent an image's origin in a way that causes harm;
- probe, overload, scrape or circumvent the service, its rate limits or its credit system;
- resell the service as your own without a separate agreement with us.
We may suspend or close an account that does any of the above.
Your images
You keep all rights to the images you upload and to the cut-outs you produce. You grant us only the limited permission needed to process an image and return the result to you. We don't store your images, don't use them to train models, and don't publish them.
You confirm that you have the rights needed to upload each image, and that using the result won't infringe anyone else's rights.
Our property
The CutDrop name, site design, and the code behind the service belong to us. These terms don't grant you any rights to them beyond using the service as intended.
Availability
We aim to keep the service available, but it depends on third-party providers (hosting, sign-in, payment, image processing). We may pause it for maintenance or change or discontinue features. If we discontinue the service entirely, we'll give reasonable notice so you can use remaining credits or request a refund for unused ones.
Disclaimers
The service is provided "as is". To the extent permitted by law, we make no warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement, and we don't warrant that results will be error-free or meet your requirements.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Ending the agreement
You can stop using the service at any time, and ask us to delete your account. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms or if we're required to by law. Credits on a terminated account for breach are not refundable.
Governing law
CutDrop is offered primarily to users in the United States. These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and of the state in which the operator is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and the courts of that state have jurisdiction over any dispute.
Before starting formal proceedings, please email zdjingji@gmail.com — most issues get sorted out in a couple of messages. Nothing in this section prevents you from bringing a claim in a court that your local consumer law entitles you to use.
